The Venue
PHD Rooftop Lounge lives on the twelfth floor of Dream Downtown, right where Chelsea bleeds into the Meatpacking District. The space is finished in Italian Portoro marble and Macassar ebony with amber Venini glass chandeliers overhead, and the outdoor terrace with its retractable canopy has the kind of uninterrupted Hudson River and Empire State views that make first-timers stop mid-sentence. Two full-service bars, a proper DJ booth, and custom Italian leather banquettes. Tao Group runs it, which means the door, the crowd, and the music are all curated accordingly. Open Thursday through Saturday year-round.

PHD faces the Hudson River and the Empire State Building. Depending on the fireworks launch location, there may be a partial or indirect view, but this is a July 4th party at a premier rooftop lounge, not a dedicated fireworks viewing event.
